Distinguishing Oregon

Made in Oregon’s mission statement claims that there are four distinguishable traits about Oregon that create the Oregon spirit. We felt that these traits, creative, earth friendliness, quality and adventure must be embedded in the brands that have been started and grown in Oregon. Through these four traits we are discovering how the brands in Oregon create the brand of Oregon.

This project gave us great insight into the state of Oregon and what it really stands for. First, we came to understand that Portland is not the heart of Oregon that pumps culture to other regions. Rather, the culture comes from the diversity of cities and people around the state. We also realized that most of Made In Oregon’s customers are from out of state showing that people desire to be included in the state and purchase a piece of the brand whether it be Marionberry Preserves or Shwood sunglasses. In conclusion, we found that the state and the brands within the state work together to create the spirit of Oregon.
